Do you ever think about Jesus?
Most Christians in the world believe that Jesus and God are the same person. There’s a long history behind why they believe this, and you may be surprised to learn that the origins of this belief don’t come from the Bible. Many believers would be shocked if they knew the history of this doctrine and would struggle with the reasons that their church has adopted it as a core principle – Jesus’ disciples didn’t believe it!

It is very common for people to accept things they are told by others in authority without doing appropriate due diligence on the source of these longstanding beliefs.
If you believe in God and Jesus, it is fundamental to understand who they are because the hope that is offered to us is a miraculous one – to be raised from the dead and enjoy eternal life in God’s kingdom on earth. The poster on the front wall of our hall has a verse which tells us that understanding who God and Jesus are is vital if we are to share in the promised salvation.
Ask yourself some logical questions about the nature of Jesus if he really was God, if he really did exist at the beginning of creation.
For example, ‘how is it possible for God to sin?’ Jesus was tempted to sin, like we are, but resisted every temptation (unlike us). But it was possible – otherwise there would have been no jeopardy, resisting sin would have been no sacrifice, and our salvation would not have been possible.
Just give it some thought, read your Bible, and if you have any questions, come and speak to us. We’d love to talk with you about it 🙂
